Family Portrait

Papa's favourite
Timothy's favourite

We spent an afternoon at Fitzroy Garden with our friend Andrew (photographer) and Elly (wife, make-up artist). Taking family portraits together was pretty fun, except for some frozen smiles! Really a challenge to hold a smile for a few shots on one pose and doing this over a couple of hours.

Camping at Anglesea 2010

Pitching this tent was massive work. Endless, pegging and tugging, making sure that it's fitted firmly and correctly. This is our home for 4 nights at Angleasea Family Caravan Park, a 6-men tent. We're very proud of it. It survived one stormy night. With the howling winds and the roaring of the waves, we slept anyway...

We cooked our simple meals just outside our tent...loads of fun!

5 families camped together on this trip. 11 kids from the age of 2 to 11... they hang out together all day, especially loved this tree near our campsite.

The beach was a walk away, and here we spent lazy afternoons... it was very cold though...

The gang of kids having their last bit of fun before we break camp...

We caught the camping bug...Our next camping trip is already marked off our calendar in March next year! We'll be camping at Phillip Island... ;p

Spring Holiday with Grandparents 2010

Ah Gong and Ah Ma came to stay for 2 weeks at the break of Spring. It was a great get together and catching up time. Besides the usual cook and eat, cook and eat, we also sat together for many hours watching TCS Chinese Serial. 20 episodes of Best Things In Life, 'Wu Fu Dao'. That was good entertainment for the adults and even better for the kids to learn Chinese, cos this series has NO English subtitles!

We took a trip to explore Gariwerd-Grampians National Park. The drive was beautiful, we enjoyed the clear blue sky and the vast countryside along the inland road. We arrived at our accomodation after 3.5 hrs at Roos with a View and were greeted by about 20 kangaroos lazing on the front porch of the house. Later in the evening, the emus came to say 'hello'. And these native animals were our constant companion throughout the stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, with the backyard opening out to the forest and we could cook on the BBQ on the outdoor veranda.

Pictures we took outside the house, except this one with Tricia on her bed...

We remembered Moon Festival at the Grampians and put out lanterns that night, had mooncakes and tea for supper...

We took many walks. Walk to the creek, walk to waterfalls, walk up the hill, walk to vantage points, walk around the small town...

server on a snailcrawl...to be continued...

Some of the most spectacular views we enjoyed while we were exploring the walks at Grampians...

The Balconies

Besides the holiday away, we stayed at home, catching up on TCS chinese drama, cook and eat...cook and eat... the most yummy treat was rice dumpling. Mummy learnt to make bah-chang...

Puffing Billy

What a treat for of us. Hanging our legs out on a steam engine train as it travels through the beautiful Dandenong Mountain.

Phillip Island

Before we reached PI, we stopped by at this wildlife park for Austalian native animals.  Fun time getting close to kangaroos, kaola and wombats, etc...

Doesn't it look cuddly?!

It was cold and windy and rainy... Papa's hands must be shivering as he took this picture :>

But we managed the boardwalk at the Nobbies and had a great time watching the fairy penguins... The best part was when people started to leave and we all went down to the beach and stayed till the last group of penguins headed towards their nest. And we followed them all the way along the boardwalk, watching the penguins exchanging their greetings and socialise with each other as they find their home.

Snowplay at Lake Mountain

We're here at Lake Mountain, a yearly affair, for snowplay...

And this time, we have Ah Yi and Uncle thomas for company...

Snowball fight! And making snowman...

Hot porridge for lunch.

Tobogganing down the snow...

Yippee!!!
